Great Scott Escapes is a state of the art escape room gaming experience created by a team of creative professionals with expertise in AV technology, theater, design, building, and engineering. We have combined all of those talents together to create one incredible adventure.
Great Scott Escapes was born out of a desire to bring something different and exciting to the great town of Scottdale; something that would provide an enjoyable experience for locals as well as folks from out of town. Our goal is to offer entertainment that will be appealing to children as well as adults, giving families the chance to enjoy the experience as much as any group of friends or co-workers.
In keeping with the heritage of Scottdale and the Southmoreland School District, the name Great Scott Escapes was created to honor the history and tradition of this wonderful region. We hope you consider coming out to see us and take in all that our town has to offer. And while it’s not a requirement that you wear a kilt to play our games, it certainly won’t be discouraged either!

CHRIS, was our game master and he was probably the best game master I've had so far out of all the other places I've been. This was our groups first time going there and we all had a blast. Fun, entertaining, and it kept you on your toes the whole time trying to beat that clock. The thought, decor and sound effects put into the story line was awesome. We will be back soon! I had a blast! Serial Killer was very well thought of. It was very challenging with just me and one other person so I recommend doing this with 6-8 people because the puzzle itself is complex and difficult. Nonetheless I had a great time and I will do all 3 of these before the summer ends. Thanks Great Scott Escapes!!!!
Great Scott Escapes is such a fun escape room. I 100% recommend. Ben was the nicest guy ever, we did the serial killer one and it was super cool. Mysterious and really interesting. It really makes you start thinking.
Tons of unique areas, thematic puzzles and Ben was a great guide. We managed to escape with 4 seconds left! Would highly recommend for anyone looking to challenge themselves

A lot of detail and care went into the serial killer escape room that I had for my son and his friends for his birthday party. They had a great time!! Will definitely be going back, but this time I’m going to do it with him!
Had the best time ever playing “Bugsy” !! My husband and I got it just in time and had so much fun. Our game master was so helpful and kind! Super friendly & family oriented!! Recommend 10 times out of 10! We will absolutely be back!!
This is an awesome place to go to do an escape room. We have done 2 of them so far. The owner was our game master for the first one and Chris and his son were the game masters for the second. All of them were so nice!
I took my fiance for his birthday. It was our first time with escape rooms, and we immediately felt welcome and special. The whole experience was creative and fun, we will definitely be going back.
My husband planned a surprise birthday day for me this weekend, starting with this escape room. Now, we are escape room snobs with 25+ rooms under our belt, so we are picky on a good room. This was the first ever murder mystery room we'd ever seen or done, and it was SO immersive!! No spoilers, but I've never had asking for a clue literally be like it was part of the game itself. The room was so much fun, my friends and I had a blast with it.. and yes, we escaped 😎 one of the best in the entire Pittsburgh area!!
Super in character, wonderful game master. Room made sense and everything worked but was far from easy. I've played 20+ rooms and my wife is on 30+. We both agree that this one is definitely in the top ten at a minimum.
The Christmas theme escape was wonderful for our group of 8 average people age ranged from 15 to retired. Everyone was able to play a crucial part in making progress and it was thoughtful and detailed but cute enough to entertain all ages.
We had a very enjoyable experience! We did Serial Killer. The room and props were extremely detailed and well thought out. There was a wide variety of clues and puzzles which made the room challenging and fun. Would 100% recommend.
These rooms were AMAZING!!! So detailed and well thought through. Kathy was one of my all time favorite gamemasters and I've done quite a few escape rooms.You won't regret your visit!

My husband and I stopped by and did the serial killer puzzle today. It was a ton of fun and puzzle filled. Melody was our game coordinator and she was so helpful and made the game great! Absolutely recommend!!
Harder than expected. Had a great time for brothers 18th birthday. Will be back for the other rooms they offer in the future. Also got a great deal at Carson’s with the 15% off we received from showing our reservation print out.
If you enjoy challenging and suspenseful activities this is for you!! Kathy was kind, helpful and useful! The price is reasonable also. It was $25.00 a person for an hour in the room. The location was convenient and parking was easily found. Lots of restaurants near by within walking distance! Kathy didn't rush us or hurry us along either! after we "blew"up aka lost, she came down and explained to us what we did right and wrong! We was so close!!"The" suspect was even helpful with a little sarcasm lol 😆. I highly recommend this activity!! Thank you Great Scott Escapes for having us!! We enjoyed every part from scheduling to us showing up! It was what I call an smooth sailing!! Until next time keep challenging these people! Y'all deserve more than 5 stars 🌟

Excellent Escape Room! They were so accomodating, meeting us on a day and time that worked for our schedule. We got to do the Bugsy murder mystery room and had a blast! Cathy came in on her day off to be our game master and she was amazing! We will be back to solve the other room as well!
Highly recommend! The ambiance of this escape room tops all others I've been to. Serial Killer was scary and so much fun. A perfect date night activity. I can't wait to try the other room.
These two adventures were among the best escape rooms we've ever done! The production quality was top-notch and created an immersive experience. Puzzles were the right level of challenge and a lot of fun. The owner was very friendly (and was also a great clue-giver). Worth the trip!
First time ever doing an escape room and it was a blast! The production quality blew us away, it felt like we were actually in the hotel! The clues were exciting and kept the experience moving, while throwing some curve balls in our way. We escaped with 43 seconds left! I will be back to do the other room! I highly recommend this experience
Brought a small group of school students and we all had a blast! The story of Who Killed Bugsy Marlow was detailed and the room was decorated so well. The puzzles were clever and challenging and getting clues through the phone was fun. Thanks so much for a great time, we all loved it!
We were passing through the area and weren’t able to book in advance like you typically do. The owner was VERY accommodating and helpful to our family (we were able to start the room at 4:30 instead of posted times of 4 or 5.) The room was very well designed with a good story line and the puzzles were challenging, but solvable. Great family activity!!

We did the Who Killed Bugsy Marlowe room as a group of five and we all loved it! The puzzle is well thought through and there are plenty of clues to find and assemble. We got out with six minutes left and enjoyed every moment of it. Highly recommend!
This was my first escape room and I'm hooked. The room was laid out perfect and felt like we stepped right into the crime scene. The objective was tough but we made it out just in time! I can't wait to try the other rooms when they're available.
