About Us

Great Scott Escapes is owned and operated by Dwight Brown, who assembled a team of creative professionals with expertise in AV technology, theater, design, building, and engineering to create a state-of-the-art escape room gaming experience.

Before Dwight turned his attention to creating these immersive, live-action adventures in 2020, he’d taught high school music, served as a choir director, played keyboards in a jazz band, and ran sound for musical/theatrical productions and live concert performances for almost twenty years. It was during those years as a sound engineer that he forged relationships with the area’s best production designers, set decorators, make-up artists, carpenters and lighting technicians whose creative talents are on display at Great Scott Escapes.

Dwight is also the owner of GOOD SOUNDS, a sound system design & installation company that provides churches, schools, theaters, resorts, event centers, and sports complexes with custom designed, innovative, reliable, high-quality audio/video systems.

Great Scott Escapes was born out of a desire to bring something different and exciting to the great town of Scottdale; something that would provide an enjoyable experience for locals as well as folks from out of town. Our goal is to offer entertainment that will be appealing to children as well as adults, giving families the chance to enjoy the experience as much as any group of friends or co-workers.

In keeping with the heritage of Scottdale and the Southmoreland School District, the name Great Scott Escapes was created to honor the history and tradition of this wonderful region. We hope you consider coming out to see us and take in all that our town has to offer. And while it’s not a requirement that you wear a kilt to play our games, it certainly won’t be discouraged either!
